NRD is designed to be a travel companion that connects users with fellow Nomads as well as new travel options, music, resources, social service groups, volunteer and activism opportunities, food, and ways to make an income on the road or at home. Nomad Road Dog gives Nomads a purpose while they travel. With the aid of our organization, they can become cross-pollinating pioneers who spread the vision. Over time, we hope to build community with other travelers, ministries, nonprofit groups, businesses, hostels/hotels, restaurants, merch vendors, music events, and artists.
To better understand the vision of Nomad Road Dog’s would be a fusion of several existing websites including Facebook, Couchsurfing, Craig’s List, Travelocity, Amazon, Yellow Pages, and Monster rolled into an activist. One of the main challenges that travelers and missionaries have is generating an income while on the road. Nomad Road Dog is built to address this issue by offering a set of solutions: How to make money on the road?
Join the Nomad Road Dog Network Nomad Road Dog will build a network of business and social service groups by encouraging travelers/locals to check out the companies and nonprofit groups in our database. It will organize this interaction by giving all Nomads, artists, musicians, activists, nonprofit groups, businesses, and events a number to track everyone that comes into the network through them. Furthermore, if a business joined the network for $200, we would split that 50/50 with the Nomad, missionary, artist, event, or nonprofit, which could become a residual income if the business renewed every year. To further incentivize participation, NRD will offer its users 50% of the profit earned whenever they get a friend to download the application. Social Service Groups Ministries and nonprofit groups can post their services for free on our site. For instance, they can share when and where they are offering free meals, church services, medical assistance, counseling, drug rehab, reentry programs, and housing. Additionally, some groups may also offer vouchers for free bus tickets and hotels. We also help nonprofit groups do creative fundraising by working at events like Electric Forest, Coachella, Bottle Rock, Electric Daisy Carnival, PGA, NASCAR, football games, and state fairs. We do event service work as parking cars, taking care of trash, and facilitating security. Check out www.KingdomPromotions.org for more information on volunteering at events. Set the Restrooms Free Were not only wanting to set people free but our bathrooms as well. Were encouraging businesses/organizations to take down there signs that restrooms are for customers only. Nomad Road Dog will give all the businesses within its network a restroom friendly sticker to put on their front window and we will encourage locals/travelers to do businesses at these establishments. Companies that aren’t restroom friendly are not a good fit to join our network. You might not be aware how a lot of homeless people have been arrested for relieving themself in public and are being charged with sexual crimes and have had to registure as a sex offender. Amenities Icons Each business/organization that joins our network will be able to list their available amenities. However, in order to be listed on NRD’s website you have to have a place to sign our Let My People Go Bill and be a restroom friendly establishment. Here are our available icons and what they represent: *Let My People Go Bill Icon: copy of our bill that customers can sign. *Bathroom Icon: bathroom can be used without purchasing something. *Shower Icon: free/paid shower *Wash machine/Dryer icon free/paid *Free Wifi Icon *Recycle icon they have a recycle icon. *Trash art icon, art made out of trash located on site. *Free Box: Picture of a trash can with, “free box” (hopefully decorated by a local artist) where locals/homeless/travelers can take something or leave something like food, tents, backpacks. *Two Hands Holding One Another Icon: The business hosts a regular travel meetup group. *Free Camping/Camping Icon: A picture of a tent indicating that the business offers either a free or paid campsite. (NRD’s website will have links to all free sites and rooms, like on Couchsurfing). *Hostel/Hotel icon: The business is traveler friendly. *Free Parking Logo *Wash Machine/dryer: Either free or paid. *Envelope Icon: Nomads can send mail to the business. *Locker icon: Travelers can check their gear into storage here. *Shakedown Street icon: business allows vending *Musical Note Icon: They have an open mic night where travelers can play music for tips. *Hitchhiker Friendly Icon: A picture of a thumb *Printer Icon: The business offers free/discounted printing. *Picture of a dog: The establishment is pet-friendly. Housed Up “Housed up” is a term that many travelers use when someone gives them a free place to stay. Nomad Road Dog will list free as well as paid housing options on our site. This database includes Couchsurfing listings, Airbnbs, free/paid campsites, hostels, hotels, and shelters. One of our goals is to encourage more businesses, church’s and individuals to open up their parking lots, land or homes to host travelers and people in need. FYI Walmart for instance (who generates a significant amount of money from RV campers). If you know of any good websites or pages please email us any good leads. Were also looking for property that could be used to start tiny house villages. Check out our site called www.TheNomadsLand.org. Accountability Our site will give Nomads and organizations the option to build a profile page. This offers companies and individuals the opportunity to receive reviews (like on couchsurfing.com and airbnb.com) and travelers a chance to make valuable connections. For instance, Nomads will be able to describe what kind of traveler they are (hitchhiker, train hopper, backpacker, business traveler, trail hiker, RV/bus/tiny house rover, or festival goer), what type of housing they prefer while traveling, and what kind of music and festivals they enjoy.
